Please join BCEPC for our next seminar,  Life Insurance in the 2023 Estate Plan, where Russell Porter, CLU, ChFC, AEP and Kurt Hofgard, JD, CLU, ChFC, AEP, both past Boulder County Estate Planning Council officers, will discuss types and uses of life insurance in today's world, as well as relevant recent life insurance legal developments.

Venue:  Jewish Community Center, Classrom L130, 6007 Oreg Avenue, Boulder.   

Check-in and networking will start at 11:15 a.m., with the buffet open for lunch by 11:30. The business meeting will commence at 11:45, just before the 12:00 start time for the speakers.

This seminar is open to guests, so please invite a colleague or client to join you.  You can add your guest when you register.

Presenters: 

Russ Porter, ChFC, CLU, AEP, NQPA For over 20 years Russ has worked in the field of insurance and financial services. In 2023 Russ joined the team at Axiom Wealth Alliance.

Russ is a graduate of Harding University and The University of Nebraska and holds several designations including Charter Financial Consultant (ChFC) and Charter Life Underwriter (CLU) from The American College of Financial Services, Accredited Estate Planner (AEP) from the National Association of Estate Planners & Councils and Nonqualified Plan Advisor (NAPA) from the National Association of Plan Advisors.

Away from the office, Russ enjoys Colorado’s outdoors and traveling with his wife Giselle.  He also serves on the Sister Carmen Community Center board of directors in Lafayette.

Kurt C. Hofgard, JD, CLU, ChFC, AEP holds a Bachelor of Arts in Western American History with Honors from Stanford University, and he graduated from Northwestern School of Law, Lewis & Clark College in Portland, Oregon with honors. He successfully completed the Advanced Estate Planning courses from the American College en route to obtaining the Charted Life Underwriter (CLU), Chartered Financial Consultant (ChFC), and Accredited Estate Planner (AEP) designations.

 

Kurt is a member of the board of directors of the Boulder County Bar Association (Business and Estate & Tax Sections), and a member of the Colorado Bar Association and the Boulder County Estate Planning Council. Kurt worked at the Oregon Department of Justice for the Credit & Bankruptcy and Charitable Activities Sections before moving back to Colorado.

 

Kurt was born in and grew up in Boulder, attending Arapahoe Elementary, Douglass Elementary, Platt Junior High, and Fairview High. He, his wife Linda (also his law partner) have lived in Louisville for 28 years. They enjoy music, hiking, and seeing their two adult children Elyssa (PhD candidate at MIT) & Jake (junior at Stanford).
